2025 Leaders and So Many Positives

2025 Leaders

Our student leadership selection processes have culminated this term in the announcement of our 2025 leadership team.  Congratulations to all student leaders who nominated for the captaincy, with the group demonstrating all our core values in the exceptional way they conducted themselves. The induction of the 2025 leaders will occur in a formal assembly early Term 4.

So Many Positives

Tell Them from Me (TTFM) is a suite of surveys for measuring student engagement and wellbeing, administered from a third-party provider called, The Learning Bar engaged by the Department of Education. The surveys can be used to capture student, parent and teacher voices, providing evidence on the perception of the school from these key voices. More information on this measure can be found here: https://education.nsw.gov.au/about-us/education-data-and-research/tell-them-from-me

This term we have been reflecting on our Tell them From Me student data, to support our understanding of how our kids perceive the learning climate at NHS.

Below is a visual representing a small snapshot of our results, which are OUTSTANDING and a huge credit to our staff and learning community for the school climate we are explicitly developing each day to support our students feel safe and strong. The most pleasing and notable result for me was the huge sense of belonging students are reporting feeling at NHS – 70% of students surveyed feel belonging at our school (State average is 57%)!

While there was an overwhelmingly positive outcome in the TTFM data, we have also identified areas of development and will be focusing on continuing to encourage all students to connect to their schooling, develop internal motivation, and have a personalised pathway to aim high in their aspirations for the future.

Thank you to our parents, carers and families who support our school in such a positive way to work in educational partnership each day.
