Technology In Maths

All students at Newcastle High School have access to the online learning tool MathsOnline.

MathsOnline allows students to work at their own pace and focus on the content that they require. The entire Australian Curriculum is covered with easy to access lessons.

Each lesson includes:

~ short, engaging and clearly explained video tutorials

~ interactive questions that increase gradually with difficulty, allowing for building      student confidence and

 ~ worksheets with worked solutions

The Mathematics faculty regularly set tasks for students to access, to assist in students’ knowledge of the basics and develop a deeper understanding of the course content.

All students have been assigned a username and password, this is located in their relevant Mathematics Canvas course.

If students are unable to locate their information, they should contact their Mathematics teacher.

MANGAHIGH

During 2020 Semester 2, our school introduced a new online Mathematics learning program called Mangahigh. Mangahigh has partnered with the Department of Education NSW to provide this service free of charge to our school. The program will be used in-school, and your child will also be able to access additional Mathematics quizzes and games out of school.

Mangahigh involves:

~ adaptive quizzes - meaning each student works to their individual level of knowledge and skill

~ Innovative games - learn as you play

~ Social competitions - compete against your classmates and other students Australia wide

To get started, see your Mathematics teacher for your individual username and password, and login at www.mangahigh.com.

You can use Mangahigh on a PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone.
