Aboriginal Support & Education

We acknowledge the homelands of the Awabakal and Worimi peoples and pay respect to our elders, past, present and emerging on the lands where we live, learn and work.

Nakiliko Aboriginal Education Team

Our Nakiliko Aboriginal Education Team is a proactive and caring group of people who are deeply committed to doing the very best for our students and school community. They provide the guidance and support for a range of significant programs and activities at our school:

Write it Right is our Aboriginal Literacy program for Year 8 students focused on taking colloquial conversations into written academic writing. Students attend cultural experiences ran by Murrook Cultural Centre to provide inspiration for their writing. The program consists of two timetabled lessons per cycle that allow for the students to discuss, brainstorm, plan and write responses in a range of forms including; recount, imaginative and persuasive texts.
