Welcome to Term 2, School Development Day and News Roundup
Welcome to Term 2
Welcome back to Term 2. We have started the term in a very positive way, with many wonderful teaching, learning, and wellbeing initiatives being planned for our students and staff. We held our ANZAC commemoration service at school in Week 1, and our Senior Leaders represented the school at both the Long Tan Life Care Village Memorial ANZAC Service and the Merewether-Hamilton-Adamstown RSL Sub-Branch ANZAC Dawn Service on 25 April in Hamilton.
This term we have many sporting events occurring including zone representation and our Athletics Carnival, our Tell Them from Me survey for students, Year 10 into Year 11 Transition events, Year 7 2023 Transition Events, and Semester 1 reports being completed. We wish all our students, staff and families a positive and productive term ahead.
School Development Day
Our teaching and non-teaching staff commenced the term engaging in Aboriginal Education focused professional learning, as mandated by the Department of Education for all NSW Public Schools this term. Our teaching staff work together in developing their skills and knowledge in Aboriginal Pedagogies and our Student Support staff developed their cultural competence by attending the Murrook Cultural Centre on Worimi country at Williamtown, to learn more about Aboriginal culture. The day was a very positive way to start Term 2, where we connected to country, build upon our high expectations for strong relationships, and reflect deeply on our teaching practices to support all students at our school.
