This term on Tuesday 6 Augustour school welcomed 8 Japanese students from Ube for a week. Ube is Newcastle’s sister city in Japan. They were hosted with families from Newcastle High. They made lots of new friends and enjoyed cooking Anzac biscuits and learning about Aboriginal culture and music. They also joined school lessons in art, sports, maths, and information technology. A huge thank you goes out to the host families that opened their homes and hearts.
Four Newcastle High students from Year 10 also competed in the Ube-Newcastle Speech Contest this term. Congratulations to Rinasa P, Abigail A, Ruby F and Sienna C who gave an outstanding performance.
