HSC Results & Dux 2023

Congratulations to all our students in the Class of 2023 for their outstanding HSC results.  We celebrated the arrival of the HSC results with a student breakfast and it was wonderful to feel the excitement and delight in the air, as students shared their next steps for university, further training, employment and travel.  

We will hold our HSC High Achievers Assembly on Friday 8 March to recognise and celebrate these results formally.

As a summary, the HSC Class of 2023 have achieved the following results from a cohort of 99 students:

• 15 x Band 6’s
• 1 x E4s
• 80 x Band 5’s
• 144 x Band 4s
• 5 x 90+ ATARs

All of our students with Band 6 and E4 results are recognised on the HSC NESA Merit List as high achievers, with their results published below.

Annika S. was recognised as a “HSC Allrounder” on the NESA Merit List, with all Band 6 results in all courses and her outstanding results makes Annika the Dux of Newcastle High School for 2023.  Congratulations Annika, we praise you for this exceptional achievement!

As a school, we continue to trend upwards in our HSC performance, when looking over the past 5 years.  Our success rate, as measured by the percentage of students in the top performance band this year is 3.63%.  We continue to aim high in our vision to improve our HSC outcomes annually, with the HSC Excellence Strategy of the school driving many Stage 6 teaching and learning initiatives in 2024 to support our students achieve their personal best.

We look forward to officially recognising this outstanding HSC 2023 high achievement at our formal assembly on Friday 8 March at 10:00 am. Well done the Class of 2023!  We wish you all the very best in the next steps you take in adult life.
