Welcome to Term 4, P & C Meeting and Term 4 School Development Days

Welcome to Term 4

A very warm welcome back to school for Term 4.  We have a busy term ahead, welcoming our students back to school after the Spring break and ensuring our new Mobile Phone Procedures are widely supported and understood.  The Higher School Certificate (HSC) examinations are well underway, Year 7 2024 Transition events are occurring weekly, Yearly Reports are being written and a variety of end of year celebrations including our Presentation Assemblies are in the pipeline.  Year 11 students have commenced their HSC studies this term, transitioning into Year 12, and we are focused on ensuring all students re-connect with each other, establish supportive routines and feel ready to learn every day.  We are also very busy preparing for the major works to rebuild our school estimated to commence early in 2024, with our P&C being the peak body for our learning community to remain up-to-date about this progress.  I wish all of our learning community a positive and productive term ahead.

Term 4 School Development Days

The last day for students to attend school in Term 4 is Friday 15 December 2023. Monday 18 & Tuesday 19 December are pupil free School Development Days (SDD).  These invaluable professional development days are used by schools to build on the knowledge and skills of our teachers, school leaders and school administrative support staff through a targeted professional learning program.

Professional learning is important in building the capabilities of all staff to ensure a highly skilled and professional workforce for our Newcastle High School learning community.  This term, our staff will be completing face-to-face CPR and anaphylaxis training at the end of year SDD.
