Principal’s Message

Many thanks to our school community, for your ongoing support during the implementation of Phase 1 of our managed student return. It has been an absolute delight to have students back onsite, in classrooms, reengaging with their teachers and their coursework. At this point in time, there has been no further direction from the Department, in regards to when they foresee progression into Phase 2, with students returning to school two days per week. I hope to be in a position to confirm plans for this phase within the next couple of days, once the NSW government announces the next step for student return in NSW schools, and principals have advice from the Department of Education.

During Phase 1 all non-essential volunteers or visitors, and staff from external providers are not permitted to be onsite. Furthermore, to minimise external visitors to the school and the school’s Administration foyer, parents are encouraged to contact the school via phone or email. Additionally, parents and carers are requested to remain in their vehicles when dropping off and picking up their child/children. This way we can limit the number of people congregating on the school site. 

Parent Forum

On Monday 25 May, we will still be conducting our Parent Forum. Events such as these ensure that we have a parent perspective in our school’s decision making and planning. Due to COVID-19 and our inability to schedule meetings onsite, we will now conduct the event via Zoom. These evenings are incredibly valuable to the school and provide our parents and carers the opportunity to engage with the school community in an informal setting. As a school we warmly welcome parent and community voice and see it as a valued asset in strengthening our positive school culture.

Louise Dark (HT HSIE) and Joel Anderson (HT PDHPE & High Potential Programs Coordinator) will conduct faculty presentations and be available for questioning. A link to the Parent Zoom meeting will be emailed out with instructions on how to access the online forum. I hope as many community members as possible join us.
