Year 6 into 7 Transition
We have been warmly welcoming our new Year 7 students for 2021 over the past two weeks through our Transition programs. Starting high school is an exciting time for students and parents, and it is an experience we are here to support and enrich. Our Transition Team has been working all year to plan our arrangements for Orientation in a different context with COVID-19 restrictions, and we greatly appreciate your understanding as we navigate some new options to support communication and transition to high school this year. We look forward to developing our partnership with parents and carers into the next 6 years with our newest members of the Newcastle High School community. It was with great pleasure that we farewelled Year 12, Class of 2020 at their Formal on Monday 16 November at Merewether Surf House. Our students looked absolutely amazing and their behaviour as respectable young adults was impeccable. Thank you to the staff who coordinated and organised this outstanding event of celebration to mark the conclusion of their schooling.
Japanese Consul-General Official Visit
On Thursday 19 November, Newcastle High School welcomed the Japanese Consul-General, Mr Kiya and his assistant Mr Murata to the school for an official visit, coordinated by Jodie Vandermeer.
The official visit to our school was warmly received by everyone involved as he visited classrooms and had morning tea.
