New & Fresh Canteen

Our school canteen is under new, dynamic management and is already serving fresh, healthy, tasty and affordable food. Kellie, our new canteen manager, has a great team of helpers that prepare fresh food for our students every morning.

The new contract is with Lilies and Limes Gourmet Catering. At the moment the Canteen is concentrating on a reduced menu with a focus on being fresh and healthy. You can access the interim Canteen Menu here.

There are also daily specials which will be posted on the Lillies and Lime facebook page and Newcastle High facebook page. Today, for example, they cooked fresh scones and cream at recess and beef lasagne for lunch ... yummmm!!

They are also in the process of getting a full menu approved under the NSW Healthy Canteen scheme, which ensures that healthy food options are available to all school students.

Next term they will also be joining the flexi-schools online ordering platform so that orders and payment can be made from home and on mobile devices. At the moment orders are 'old school' ... write on a paper bag in the morning or at first recess.

The Canteen opens at 8am and also sells any excess food at the afternoon recess on Monday Tuesday Wednesday and Friday.
