The Dillybag Website
The Dillybag has been developed as a tool to centralise Aboriginal Education resources and provide useful information for educators at all levels within the Hunter area. Each page provides information as well as a variety of links to supporting web sites and documents. This resource has been designed to acknowledge the valued expertise of Aboriginal people and acknowledge the traditional Aboriginal countries on which we work and teach to maximize engagement with local Aboriginal communities and raise the capacity of schools at a local school level. Visit The Dillybag to find out more about this valuable resource.
Norta Norta Tutoring
The Norta Norta tutor program supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students at our school. The program works with senior pupils. The assistance given to senior students is by way of mentoring and individual tuition in specific subject areas and is aimed at increasing retention rates, success in the HSC and post school options.
NAIDOC Week
NAIDOC celebrations are held around Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The week is celebrated not just in the Indigenous communities but also in increasing numbers of government agencies, schools, local councils and workplaces. Visit NAIDOC for more information.
