Catching Public Transport
Public transport is a great way to safely get to and from school.
Bus, train, light rail or ferry.
Parents and students with timetable, route or general network enquires for school travel can search the School Services page and view the trip planner for travel options.

Students 16yrs+ may require a Concession Entitlement Card, see information below for details.
Secondary Student Concession Card Request Forms 16yrs+
To be eligible for a concession card students must be 16 years or over and enrolled at Newcastle High School. Students 16yrs+ must travel with a valid ticket, either a valid School Opal card or Transport Concession Entitlement Card to be used in conjunction with a child/youth card. Completed forms can be returned by email to newcastle-h.school@det.nsw.edu.au with the subject Transport. Alternatively students can collect and return form from the school library office.
If a student has been issued with a concession card and it has been damaged, lost or stolen you can request a replacement card using the Transport Secondary Concession Card Replacement Application
School Drive Subsidy
The School Drive Subsidy may help towards the costs of driving children to school if you live in an area where there is no public transport.
Driving & Parking
The start and end of the school day are busy times for pedestrians and drivers outside schools. When driving and parking near our school, please:
- ensure you park safely in school zones
- follow all the speed signs
- do not make U-turns
- do not make 3-point turns
