BYOD Boot Camp

The first annual BYOD Boot camp occurred earlier this year. The Boot Camp is a new initiative of Newcastle High School to support the implementation of mandatory BYOD for Year 7 students. 

On the day, students brought their new laptops to school for the first time and were taken through the procedures for use at school. 

Students were guided through the major processes:

·   Accessing the school WiFi network

·   Logging in to Sentral to find details of their timetable, positives, reports and daily notices

·   Logging in to Canvas to access their course material like assessments, readings and quizzes

·   Creating folders in their Google cloud storage

All students enjoyed the day, and have now begun using these tools each day to support their learning.
