The students in Room 2 have made the most of an interesting start to the year. Students studied Japan during Semester one and enjoyed a practical cooking lesson, where they learnt to roll their own sushi. Although, not all students enjoyed the taste, they all participated well in learning to use a rice cooker and rolling the sushi using the traditional methods.

This semester, students are learning about Ancient Egyptian culture. Again, students were treated to a cooking class where they learnt skills in making traditional Egyptian flat bread, hummus and a delicious chocolate mousse dessert.

Throughout the year, the students have also been involved in participating in numerous field trips and Out and About excursions to local areas such as Newcastle Baths, Bar Beach and Merewether Beach. Students have been engaging in practical field work tasks to learn about shapes in the local community, the Anzac Walk and also about coastal erosion.

Hopefully, as the weather starts to warm up later in the term, the students will be able to restart their milkshake stall for the students and staff in the Support Unit.
